The Incredible Chili Dog

Cooking Time: 20 minutes | Servings: 4

Ingredients You'll Need:
For the Chili
  • 1 Pack of Zoglo's Incredible™ Ground
  • 1 Medium Red Onion (finely chopped) (save 2 Tablespoons for garnish!)
  • 2 Garlic Cloves (finely chopped)
  • 1 Tablespoon of Chili Powder
  • ½ Tablespoon of Paprika
  • 2 Tablespoons of Tomato Paste
  • 1 Tablespoon of Dijon Mustard
  • 1 Tablespoon of Ketchup
  • 1 Cup of Vegetable Stock
  • 2 Tablespoons of Vegetable Oil
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Freshly Ground Black Pepper (to taste)

Step 1:  Place Zoglo's Incredible™ New York Style Franks on baking sheet in center of the oven for 15 minutes

Step 2:  To make the chili, heat oil in a medium non-stick sauté pan over medium heat

Step 3:  Fry Zoglo's Incredible™ Ground while stirring with a wooden spoon for about 4 minutes or until crumbled

Step 4:  Add onion and garlic, stirring well for 2 minutes

Step 5:  Add the chili powder, paprika, salt and pepper and stir well for another minute

Step 6:  Add the tomato paste, dijon mustard, ketchup and vegetable stock. Bring the mixture up to a gentle simmer. Partially cover and simmer the mixture for 10 minutes or until it thickens. Set aside

Step 7: To toast hot dog buns, place on baking sheet in centre of oven for 5 minutes

Step 8:  To assemble the Chili Dog, place Zoglo's Incredible™ New York Style Franks inside the toasted hot dog bun. Spoon chili overtop as desired, followed by cheddar cheese, onion and jalapeño
