Ingredients

1 package of Zoglo's Incredible Shawarma Style Strips, from frozen
-
4 tablespoons of olive oil, deviled
-
1 small onion, finely chopped

1/2 teaspoon of turmeric
-
1 cup of Jasmine rice
-
2 cups of vegetable stock or water
-
3/4 cup of greek yogurt
-
1/4 cup of mayonnaise
-
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
-
1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
-
1/2 tablespoon of grated garlic
-
1 tablespoon of finely chopped dill
-
Salt
-
Freshly ground black pepper
-
Tomato
-
Cucumber
-
Lettuce
-
Hot sauce (optional)
For the Garlic Sauce
For accompaniment
Directions
For the Rice
Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a medium pot over medium heat and cook onions with salt, pepper and turmeric for 3-4 minutes or until onion is softened
Rinse the rice under cold running water, in a strainer, until the water runs clear. Drain and add to the pot
Stir the rice into onions and add vegetable stock or water
Bring mixture to a boil, then lower heat to low. Cover the pot with a lid and let rice simmer until all the water is absorbed - about 10-15 minutes or to package directions
Remove pot from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork to serve.
For the Garlic Sauce
Combine yogurt. mayonnaise, lemon juice, extra virgin olive oil, grated garlic, finely chopped dill, a pinch of salt and pepper into a medium bowl and mix well. Set aside
For the Shawarma
Heat remaining 2 tablespoons of oil in a large non-stick pan over medium high heat and cook the Zoglo's Shawarma for 4-5 minutes, tossing occasionally.
To Serve
Place rice onto a serving dish and top with Shawarma. Serve vegetables alongside for accompaniment and top with garlic sauce
