Plant Based Corn Dog Casserole

Cooking Time: 30 minutes   |  Servings:  4

Ingredients you’ll need:
  • 1 Package of the Zoglo’s Incredible™ Franks
  • ¾ Cup of Cornmeal
  • 1 ¼ Cups of Milk
  • 1 Cup of All-Purpose Flour
  • ½ Tablespoon of Baking Powder
  • ½ Teaspoon of Salt
  • ¼ Cup of Sugar
  • ¼ Teaspoon of Ground Nutmeg
  • 1 Egg
  • ¼ Cup of Oil

For the Garnish (Optional)

  • Sour Cream
  • Green Onion (thinly sliced)
  • Jalapeño / Scotch Bonnet / Your Favourite Pepper (thinly sliced)

Step 1:  Preheat oven to 400 degrees

Step 2:  Grease a 9x11-inch casserole dish

Step 3:  In a medium bowl, combine the cornmeal and milk. Let this sit for 5 minutes to allow the cornmeal to absorb some of the milk

Step 4:  Add the egg, oil and mix well with a whisk

Step 5:  In another medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and ground nutmeg. Mix this well with a whisk

Step 6:  Add the dry mixture to the wet cornmeal mixture and mix to combine (We recommend first using a whisk then switching to a spatula!)

Step 7:  Pour the mixture into a casserole dish

Step 8:  Place the Zoglo’s Incredible™ Franks into the dish (Be sure to leave a little space in between each Frank!)

Step 9:  Bake in the centre of the oven for 20-25 minutes (or until the top is light-golden brown and when a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean)

Step 10:  Allow to cool for 5 minutes

Step 11:  Cut into desired pieces and place onto a serving plate

Top with a dollop of sour cream and  some green onion!


Pro-Tip:  Add a fresh hot pepper of your choice for an added kick!
